*****SSG NEW PICK POLICY AS OF 10/15/08*****

We rate our picks using a star (*) system for units. You will multiply the star rating by your base wager. We currently use a base wager of 1 unit = 100 so that if a 5* play is displayed, this would equal 500 units. We typically rate games from 1-10 stars. A 8*-9* pick would be our best pick of the week and a 10* Rating would be a top play of the month or year. We will very rarely give out a 10* pick.

Star Rating
1*-3* = Good Bets
4*-5* = Action Bets
6*-7* = Best Bets
8*-9* = Top Bets (Week)
10* = Super Bet (Month or Year)

2nd Half Ratings for Picks
SSG rates 2nd half positions on a 1*-5* scale. The unit scale for these ratings should be 1/2 unit. An example would be a 2* Rated game is equivalent to 1 unit. 2nd half picks can be found either for Free or as a premium pick on our experts page. Cost for a 2nd Half pick ranges from $5 - $10.

We do all types of wagers including Parlays, Straight and reverses.

Sid Paradise Pick Policy

I just wanted to go over my pick policy so we are all on the same page.  This policy will take affect September 6th 2008. ***Any results prior to this date will be classified as 1* picks*** (see below for more detail)

I believe, for the most part, in flat wagering.  This means that I risk the same amount on every game no matter what my confidence about that game is.  While this works for me with my personal plays, I know that you, the subscriber, would like to get a better feel for what games I like more than others.  While I won’t put a pick up that I do not fully stand behind, I do like some games more than others.  So this is how it will work…

I will be using a 10* scale for my picks.  If I do not indicate otherwise then it is a one star.  Most of my games will be of this variety because of my tendency to flat wager.  If I like a game a little more then it will receive 2* and so on till you get to the stone cold locks.  These will receive my 10* rating.  From time to time I may like something so much that it deserves more than 10*.  These will probably happen few and far between but when they do, you better be on board or the Money Train will pass you by.  I have not come up with a signal for this but when it happens, believe me, you will know.

I will also post weekly results for my Premium picks.  I will break them down by * rating for the week and overall.  I will also break them down by sport.  This analysis will include investment (money risked) and reward (obviously money won), as well as the ROI (return on investment).  For ever * I will increase the units invested by 1. (example 2* = 2 units)  When I take favorites I will always increase my unit size so that my payout is an exact unit. (example Team X -128, I will risk 128 to win 100 and then multiply it by how many * it receives)

One final note…

I will not be keeping tabs on any Free picks I might give out.  The results table will be used strictly for Premium content.
